News in from our promoter partners: Svederna – Svedjeland
20 April 2018
Swedish black metal band Svederna released their second full-length album ’Svedjeland’ on LP/CD on April 20th via Carnal Records. Recorded in the remote forests of their native Värmland in midwinter, ’Svedjeland’ delivers fierce and relentless black metal with its feet firmly rooted in the heavy metal grounds. Svederna moves swiftly between distant forests and urban landscapes, always along its own path with a clear anti-establishment stance. Sustaining the quintessence of the 90’s Scandinavian black metal sound, Svederna also combines this with the wild energy of underground rock ‘n’ roll and aggressive punk. The sound of the group mixes violent and intense parts with melodic and epic riffs and a fair amount of thrash metal, simply made for headbanging.
Svederna considers central Sweden to be its home, with its members residing both in the city and in the wilderness. Svederna formed in the summer of 2012 and immediately began work on their debut album ‘Äntra’ which was released in June 2013 on homemade cassette with distribution through Carnal Records.
To support the new album Svederna will embark on the mini tour ‘Under Spirande Skyar 2018′ (‘Under Burgeoning Skies 2018’) together with black metal band Grift [Nordvis Records]. The tour kicks off at The Abyss in Gothenburg on May 17th, continues at Plan B in Malmö on May 18th and wraps up in the countryside hostel village of Tivedstorp on May 19th at Stallet.
Svederna are also confirmed to perform at Swedish metal festival Gamrocken on May 26th. Svederna will be joined by live members P. Stille (Stilla, Bergraven) on guitar and S. Frödeberg Karlin (Verminous, Sgt. Carnage) on bass.
