The first full-length from Leeds’ Cool Jerks is a real joy to behold. Having apparently been on a diet of DIY Hardcore, this slower=paced approach is a breath of fresh amidst all of the Dis-this and Dis-that stuff knocking about at present.
A down-to-Earth, back-to-basics, ‘Old School’ formaula, given a good hard squeeze to help the band carve a new name on the huge tree that is ‘punk’. You can almost taste the bile spat out in the vocals atop the driving groove and a vaguely reminiscent of Dead Kennedys style guitar – check out ‘We Live In Hell’ and ‘Eh’ as great examples.
